EXAM APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Entrance to the exam will be possible with a desktop, tablet, smartphone or laptop computer.

2. Exam entry will be made with a USIS username and password. Students who do not know / remember their password or username can request a new password or learn their username by sending an e-mail photo of the front of their student identity documents to bilgiislem@yildiz.edu.tr.

3. It is required to log into the exam system via the Google Chrome browser.

4. Internet, electricity, etc. during the exam. In case of interruption, it will be possible to continue the exam within the exam period, but no additional time will be allowed. You can send an e-mail to uzem@yildiz.edu.tr regarding the technical problems you experienced during the exam.

Due to technical reasons such as these, the students are required to submit the documents to prove that he cannot enter or complete the exam, to the Department of Basic English, by filling out the following sample of the petition, and requesting to take the excuse exam.

 5. The exam will start with a multiple choice section. After the multiple choice section is over, the writing section will start at the time specified in the table. Read carefully the "midterm writing section Guidelines" shared separately from this file.

6. If you end the exam using the "End Exam" button, the exam will end and you will not be able to re-enter.

7. The questions will be displayed one by one and the answered question will be recorded automatically. It will be possible to return to the answered / displayed questions. The color of the marked questions in the number table changes.

8. During the exam, the entrance records of the student to the system will be kept and it will be monitored from which IP they are connected, whether there is an IP change and whether there is a real system malfunction.

9. The exams of students who are detected to log into the system from 3 or more different IP addresses will be considered invalid.

10. It will be beneficial for you to answer all questions as the score you will get from the exam will be calculated on the basis of correct answers and there will be no deduction from incorrect answers. Make sure you answer all questions and no questions remain unanswered.

11. All students in level A1, A2 and B1 must have headphones or a computer speaker for the listening section. If you are at B1 level, keep a blank white paper and pen with you as you will listen by taking notes.

12. For the writing part: Although the given time is 75 minutes, you may experience technical problems if you wait for the last minutes to upload the file to the system. In order not to have any problem uploading the file to the system, it is recommended that you finish the writing process within the first 60 minutes and quickly move on to upload the file to the system.

13. In the announcement made by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on 27 May 2020, it was announced that students who do not have access to digital media can access computer and internet facilities of the Ministry of National Education and other public institutions, especially in the university units where they are located.

14. In this context, students who do not have access to digital media should contact the nearest public institution (especially university units) in order to complete their exam smoothly and safely.

15. Students who do not have access to digital media will be able to use the computers of the University, Ministry of National Education and other public institutions in their region by making an appointment by submitting their ID cards from the relevant units.

16. If you are going to take the exam in such an environment, not at home, you should carry your personal hand disinfectant with you, wear a mask and pay attention to social / physical distance.

17. Exam results will be announced on PREPSIS (http://prepsis.yildiz.edu.tr/) after the completion of the entire examination process and controls, and there will be no collective or personal announcements on the SFL website.

18. If you have any problems during the exam, quickly contact your class's Consultant Instructor (MAIN TEACHER) and report your problem.
