Application to Continue Second-Year English Preparatory Instruction for the 2026–2027 Academic Year (Students on Waitlist)
In accordance with Article 11 of the YTÜ School of Foreign Languages Teaching and Examination Guidelines, students who are unable to successfully complete the mandatory English preparatory program at the end of an academic year may continue the preparatory program for one additional academic year.
In this context, students who did not successfully complete the mandatory English preparatory program during the 2025–2026 academic year and wish to continue their preparatory studies in the second year of the 2026–2027 academic year must submit a written request to the School of Foreign Languages.
Students wishing to apply must submit their written requests in person to the Student Affairs Office of the Basic English Department at the School of Foreign Languages no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, either in person to the Student Affairs Office of the Basic English Department at the School of Foreign Languages or by emailing a scanned copy of their hand-signed petition to notvedevamsizlik@yildiz.edu.tr.
Students applying to continue preparatory instruction in the second academic year must take the Placement Exam to be administered at the beginning of the academic year. Students will be placed in the appropriate preparatory program based on their exam results; the attendance, performance evaluation, examination, and other academic regulations applicable to first-year preparatory students will apply to these students.
Students who do not apply to continue in the second year of preparatory instruction within the specified timeframe will be considered on-hold students. On-hold students may exercise their rights regarding the English Proficiency Exam (İYS) as outlined in the YTÜ School of Foreign Languages Teaching and Examination Guidelines.
